The Seals of Solomon- Are amulets that are attributed to King Solomon, the wisest of men

These amulets serve as defense, marital relationships, plenty, sustenance and health.

These seals together with the 72 letters are extremely powerful amulets that can fulfill every one’s wishes.

Solomon’s Seals are powerful and their strength has been known for thousands of years. They have become not only the inheritance of the Jewish people but also of Christians and Moslems who believed in their power. There is also a prevailing opinion which attributes Solomon’s Seals to the ” Seals of Goatya”- a ceremonial magical system which invites and operates demons whose source is from the Middle Ages.

It is difficult to understand those who hold this opinion. I believe that I am able to explain it. If we stand upon what is known to us from the sources of Jewish literature, there is a part of King Solomon’s personal history which relates his ties with “Ashmadai” king of the demons.

The Midrash of our sages of blessed memory relates: When King Solomon wanted to build the Holy Temple he knew that it was forbidden to cut the stones for the Temple with a metal instrument and so he asked the sages how to proceed. The sages responded: cut the stones with the “shamir” ( the “shamir” according to tradition is a worm that with the liquids in its mouth has the power to cut through stones). Said Solomon: Where is it?

They said to him: Ask the demons. The Midrash continues to relate that Solomon caught two demons who revealed to him the name of the one who knew where to find the “shamir” and that was “Ashmadai” king of the demons and to him was sent Solomon’s general Bnayahu son of Yehoyada.

The Midrash tells at great length and in an exciting manner how Bnayahu caught “Ashmadai” and how he revealed to Solomon the source of the “shamir”. And later “Ashmadai” remains in Solomon’s palace until the Holy Temple’s construction was completed. During this period King Solomon learned and understood from “Ashmadai” the power and essence and language of the demons.

Tradition tells us that the source of this seal was in the ring of King Solomon in which were engraved the names of the angels, codes and combinations of letters which are very powerful.

The Midrash continues to tell us: King Solomon was seduced into lending his ring to “Ashmadai” in exchange for knowledge and information with regards to the secret of the demons’ power. “Ashmadai” swallowed the ring and at that very moment he raised one hand to the heavens and one hand to the ground and flung Solomon 400 parsah from Jerusalem while he disguised himself as Solomon and sat upon his throne. In the end the fraud was revealed and Solomon returned to his kingdom.

It is suggested to use Solomon’s Seals in order to preserve as much as possible there exact form according to the sources in order to benefit from the same energy that existed then which can change one’s destiny for good.

The 72 names- These names are composed of the combination of three verses which describe the events of the splitting of the Red Sea which is considered to be the greatest of all miracles and the height of Divine intervention in the physical reality from the dawn of history and all that will yet come. In these verses is described the actual act of splitting the Red Sea G-d’s ineffable name is revealed, the name which is the most powerful and lofty of all. When every combination is a code which operates a different type of energy- a spiritual channel, where one combination is good for finding a spouse, the second for sustenance, etc. The 72 names fit the secret of their operation and their power in the variety of the seals in Solomon’s Seals.

The amulets are a receptacle for all of our needs. They create a connection and energized activity for the fulfillment of our requests and desires and they contain the combination of Names and seals which have the power to activate them and to obtain Divine influence for the purpose for which they are needed. The amulet connects us to the power source through which we receive all the good that is within creation through the improvement of our material and emotional situation. The amulet as a source of power in and of itself is presented on a “stone” which is an energized infrastructure and a receptacle with tremendous power in itself. During his journey our father Jacob, when he sought to take a nap, chose to rest his head on a “stone”:

“And Jacob took one of the stones from that place and placed it under his head and lay in that place”

The next morning following the inspirational dream of “Jacob’s ladder” and the Divine revelation, Jacob takes the “stone” upon which he rested his head and erected it as an altar:
“And he took the “stone” upon which he had rested his head and erected it as a monument and poured oil upon its head”.

Later, at the moment of the revelation at Mt. Sinai, we are commanded to build an altar only out of “stone”

“an altar made of stone you shall make for Me”.

In a numerical discovery I found that to lighten your eyes to the power of the infrastructure upon which we set the amulet “stone”/

The name of the Creator (yud-hey-vav-hey) equals 53. “Stone (even in Hebrew) also equals 53.
